Third SMAC Discussion Forum Held
The third and final forum in the fall discussion series organized by the Structured Movement Against Capitalism was held on November 21st at the University of Winnipeg. Three papers were presented to the audience, comprised mainly of university and high school students.
The first paper examined and exposed the globalization myths being presented by those who favour increased trade liberalization. The second paper examined the history of globalization, from the earliest development of mercantile systems to the present day. The final paper presented and assessed the alternatives to globalization which are currently being discussed in the anti-globalization movement.
Following each paper, audience members had a chance to ask questions and serious discussion developed about each presentation.
